5th Review of UK Parliament Constituencies

The Fifth Periodical Review of UK Parliament constituencies commenced in 2002, and reported in 2004, with its recommendations being implemented at the General Election in 2005.

It was the first review after the passage of the Scotland Act 1998 which required a reduction in the number of Scottish constituencies - there were 72 Scottish constituencies at the start of the Review, and the Review recommended 59 constituencies.

These constituencies were used in the UK general elections of: 5 May 2005; 6 May 2010; 7 May 2015; 8 June 2017 and 12 December 2019.
